As a nationwide advocacy nonprofit organization, Citizens for Radioactive Radon Reduction Inc. (CR3) addresses the need for stronger public engagement, greater outreach, and targeted radon awareness initiatives on an ”ongoing” statewide level with more aggressive campaigns that emphasize radon as a cause of lung cancer.

CR3 News Magazine, started by a lung cancer survivor, is the “only” magazine in the world dedicated to radon and lung cancer, was created on January 1, 2017 for National Radon Awareness Month. Presently, there is no magazine dedicated to the subject of radon gas and it’s lung cancer effects. Yet, it is the second leading cause of lung cancer and #1 among non-smokers.  The goal was to place an issue in every healthcare facility with the express purpose of informing the non-smoking lung cancer patient and medical community about radon gas as a possible cause.

Since then, there has been a marked increase in CR3 News Magazine activities and in the number of participants. The issues are covering new topics, expanding to new geographic areas, and reaching users the world over. It is therefore necessary to generate media with a broader outreach capable of covering the full range of activities of Citizens for Radon Reduction (CR3), the radon industry and medical concerns through subscriber and advertising.

Through the establishment of the magazine, it became possible to consolidate and focus the various channels of communication used at different times by CR3, thus producing an important tool for promoting radon and cancer advocacy cooperation and integration activities.
